Who can benefit from chiropractic care?

Spine and hip problems can happen to anyone at any age, and cause a variety of symptoms and health conditions.  In our office, we treat both adults and children.

What is an "adjustment" and do they hurt?

An adjustment is a term for a chiropractic treatment that restores the normal function of a joint (usually the spine), muscles and the nervous system.  Most of the time, adjustments do not hurt.  In fact, many of our patients experience instant relief following an adjustment.  In our office, we perform several different types of chiropractic adjustments to gently correct problems with the bones, joints, discs, muscles, and nerves.

Why should I see a chiropractor?

Drugs, injections, and surgery are not always the right choice for you and your family.  Many times medications simply "cover up" the problem.  In addition, medications that are taken inappropriately or for too long, can have very serious side effects.

Chiropractic is different.  Our doctors offer a safe alternative for the treatment of many health conditions.  By restoring proper alignment, movement and balance to your body we are able to resolve your health condition and enable your body to heal naturally.

Can you have pain or discomfort after a treatment?

Yes, although not very often, sometimes a patient can experience discomfort for a day or two following a treatment.  In fact, the most common side effect is soreness.  Because our treatments may involve deep tissue muscle work, correcting alignment, stretching and exercises these modalities can all result in discomfort.  Feel comfortable in knowing that this is a normal part of the process of fixing your problem and restoring your health.

Do I have to get my spine "cracked"?

No.  We offer many different types of treatments.  For those patients who choose not to receive spinal manipulation (the treatment that makes the cracking noise), we have very effective alternative treatments to get the results you need without the "cracking" sound.

Can you go to the chiropractor two or more days in a row?

Yes.  Depending on your healthcare needs and scheduling situation, a patient may choose to see a chiropractor for two or more days in a row.

Once I start with chiropractic care do I have to go forever?

Absolutely Not.  There are many different reasons people seek our care.  You and your doctor will decide on a treatment plan geared specifically to meet your healthcare needs.

Do you treat pregnant women?

Yes.  During pregnancy, stress and pressure can build in the low back.  This pressure can cause low back pain and sciatica.  Using gentle alignment and massage techniques, our doctors are able to relieve this pressure and reduce or eliminate back pain and sciatica.

If I have had spinal surgery can I still see a chiropractor?

Of course, it is dependent on the person, but in most cases the answer is yes.  Our doctors safely and effectively treat individuals with complex spinal conditions including those that have had surgery in the past.

Do I need to have an x-ray or MRI?

Imaging is ordered when your doctor feels that it is necessary.  Not all patients will need imaging, but if the doctor does give you a prescription for imaging, have it done as soon as possible.  If you have had previous imaging, bring it with you on your first visit.

Do I need a referral?

No.  Simply call our office or schedule by clicking the "BOOK APPOINTMENT NOW" button on our website.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes.  We accept most major health insurance plans and are in-network preferred providers for Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
